Crane/Boom Truck Crane Safety Course

The Sign Association of Canada in partnership with the International Sign Association and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is now offering a course for sign installers. The course has two parts consisting of an 8 hour on-line section followed by one day of on-site instruction and testing.

Course Outline

  • Assessing suitability of equipment for safe operation.
  • Identification of important elements of site location and communication.
  • Selection of appropriate hardware for various types of loads and load weights.
  • Determination of equipment capacity during hoists.
  • Proper operating procedures and equipment setup.
  • Preparation of equipment for travel.
  • Regulations and potential hazards that pertain to crane/boom truck operation.
