What Board Members/Directors Need to Know About the AODA

We  have designed a new webinar series specifically for Board Members/Directors to give them essential information about the AODA and their role in meeting the current and upcoming compliance requirements.

The AODA affects all aspects of an organization's operations and, as leaders and caretakers of your organization, it is their responsibility to be aware of the AODA compliance requirements that must be met, and by when. Some of your upcoming compliance requirements include:

  • Creating multi-year accessibility plans
  • Training of all staff and volunteers on the Integrated Accessibility Standards
  • Creating accessible workplaces (recruitment, selection, hire, and accommodation of employees with disabilities)
  • Developing accessibility policies and procedures for each of the Standards

Participation in this series will give board members a solid understanding of the legislation, the legal requirements of your organizations, and their duties as a board member.

The webinar series will start on January 9, 2013 and run every Wednesday from 11:00-11:30, for 5 weeks. The first webinar is free.

Schedule:

January 9th - Overview of the AODA

January 16th - Customer Service Standard

January 23rd - Overview of the Integrated Accessibility Standards

January 30th - Information and Communications Standard

February 6th - Employment Standard
