10 Reasons why you should join the Sign Association of Canada

Industry Representation and Support

SAC-ACE believes in taking a proactive approach in defense of impending shifts in legislation, bylaw revisions and code restrictions be it at the national, provincial or municipal level.

In the last 12 months, SAC’s government and technical committees have been at the forefront of several issues concerning the industry. Whether it is the close working relationship we have formed with Environment Canada as a result of our input into the proposed restrictions on Mercury use and importation into Canada or it’s our leadership role in working with ESA, CSA and ULC on LED regulations, SAC has and continues to serve and uphold the interests of our industry.

Local issues are also taken very seriously by SAC. Our committees work very closely with our provincial chapters on proposed changes to municipal sign bylaws and provincial
corridor management policies.

Educational Programs and Accredited Training

SAC-ACE believes learning never stops and safe, sound business practices come as a result of educated decisions.

The Sign Association of Canada in partnership with the International Sign Association (ISA) and The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) has recently launched a boom/crane truck safety training course and is currently working on a national SSIT certification for electrical sign work that currently has been adopted by the Alberta and Atlantic Canada Chapters.

Workplace Safety Group has been a long standing partner with SAC providing everything from WHMIS training to assisting members in setting up policy practices in government regulated workplace safety programs.

SAC takes education seriously. It has recently formed a national education committee to identify and formulate accredited programs specifically tailored to meet our industry’s needs.
